Jeff was raised in Magna, Utah. He graduated from Cyprus High School prior to leaving on an LDS mission to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While on his mission, he had the opportunity to play the piano for baptismal services conducted in Spanish, French, and English, and he also played the piano for a Haitian Sacrament Meeting.
After returning to Utah, he married his high school sweetheart and they moved to Provo while he finished school at BYU. Then it was on to the Physical Therapy Program at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. They loved North Carolina, whether it was strolling the beach in Wilmington, driving through the Smokey Mountains near Asheville, or feeding the ducks in the Duke University Gardens. After graduation, they moved back to Utah to be closer to family.
When he is not spending time with his wife or four children, Jeff likes to run, play basketball, golf, chess, piano, and of course, write.They currently reside in Utah.
